Daniele Cassioli has transformed his blindness into a driving force to inspire others, using sports as a tool for growth and redemption. Thanks to his family's unwavering support, which always normalized his disability, he discovered a space of freedom and opportunity in water skiing. He has won 28 world titles and exceeded not only his own limits but also the expectations of others.
An injury led him to explore a new path: training and storytelling. Through school visits and public engagements, Daniele began sharing his story, realizing its transformative power. This journey inspired him to found Real Eyes Sport, an association promoting sports for children with visual impairments, teaching them to overcome barriers confidently and firmly.
The author of two books published by DeAgostini, Daniele, addresses themes such as resilience and inclusion, emphasizing the value of failure as an opportunity for growth. Today, he collaborates with companies and institutions, including the Campus Bio-Medico of Rome, to promote sports as a tool for social transformation. He firmly believes that inclusion stems from cultural change and the courage to confront limits with creativity and strength of spirit.
Blind since birth, a world-class athlete and passionate trainer with 28 world titles in water skiing, 100 gold medals and the prestigious Collar of Gold for Sports Merit, Daniele has turned a condition of blindness into a life full of achievements. With a degree in physical therapy, he has also maintained close ties to sports in his professional career.
In 2018, he published the autobiographical novel “Il vento contro” (DeAgostini), where he recounts his relationship with disability with irony and depth, drawing universal lessons for life from it. He founded Real Eyes Sport, an association that promotes sports for children with visual impairments, and is dedicated to corporate training, exploring topics such as diversity, inclusion and resilience.
Through her sports and personal experiences, she shares strategies for growth and inspiration in the classroom, in business and in the media, with the goal of turning obstacles into opportunities. Since 2022 for Rai he has edited the column “Vedere Oltre,” where he analyzes sports as a metaphor for life, emphasizing the values of perseverance and adaptation.
