Artificial intelligence, however powerful, remains a tool. It is in the hands and wisdom of educators that it can become a valuable ally capable of expanding possibilities and shaping a more conscious, equitable, and inclusive society.
After all, the advancement of knowledge always requires expert and passionate guidanceâsomeone capable of understanding and interpreting the complexity of the present with love for their work and dedication to the common good. Professor Giovanni Tridente, Director of Communication at the UniversitĂ Pontificia dela Santa Croce, offers this reflection.
Giovanni Tridente is Director of Communication at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross and professor of Theory and Practice of Written Argumentation and Artificial Intelligence Applied to Communication at the Faculty of Institutional Communication at the same university.
He is editor and vaticanist for the Spanish magazine OMNES and is interested in news coverage of the Church and the presence of Catholics on social media.
He is president of the Giuseppe De Carli Cultural Association - For Religious Information. Lately he has been exploring the field of ethical and social implications of Artificial Intelligence, including in education. He is the author of Digital Soul. The Church at the Test of Artificial Intelligence (Tau, 2022) and, with Fabio Colagrande, of 50 Questions & Answers on Artificial Intelligence (ESC, 2024).
