An ambitious project dedicated to the early diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease is made possible through the collaboration of Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico, Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, and Fondazione Roma. The integrated Center for Research and Cure of Alzheimer's distinguishes itself with its holistic and multidisciplinary approach, aiming to combine advanced research, state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, and personalized clinical management.
Preclinical research, led by Professor Marcello D’Amelio, will focus on identifying biomarkers for timely diagnosis and targeted interventions to slow the disease's progression.Meanwhile, Professor Vincenzo Di Lazzaro is spearheading innovative research on timely diagnosis by utilizing non-invasive techniques and studying brain connectivity through transcranial magnetic stimulation.
The combination of research and care, along with the incorporation of cutting-edge technologies such as 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance, will provide insights into the disease's early stages. Supported by Fondazione Roma, the project will span five years and aims to create a virtuous synergy between basic research and clinical application, ultimately enhancing the lives of patients and their caregivers.
