The story of Andrea

In his words, in his gaze, in his beginnings and in his projects, two distinctive traits intertwine at every turning point of a life in constant motion: on one hand, the ability to grasp and interpret change; on the other, the human and generous drive to give back what he has received. 

Change seems to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Andrea: from the first computers and his curiosity as a child—then as a student—to the present day, with artificial intelligence and its possible developments. Andrea Pescino was born a pioneer, grew up as an entrepreneur, and lives with the open-minded perspective of a citizen of the world who has made his expertise and generosity available across many latitudes: from the tables of the European Commission in Brussels to Silicon Valley, passing through his beloved Genoa, a city he describes as Italy’s cradle of technology. 

He has always explored the future to grasp its trajectories and try to take a step even further. Because, as he tells us, when it comes to knowledge, one must always look at what has not yet arrived, not at what has already been. 

For this reason, Andrea observes, studies, and delves deeper—and in his vision, the great transformation of our time, AI, could not be missing. He is passionate about discovering its potential for everyone: an artificial intelligence that can, in some way, serve humankind. Indeed, nothing will transform the world—or has transformed it in the past—as AI will in the coming years. But to embrace this leap forward, we must understand it and grasp its impact. 

Today, just as in the early days of his schooling when the doors of the computer lab were first opened to him, Andrea’s gaze is directed toward what does not yet exist but can be created. A world still to be built—one in which we must roll up our sleeves to make it accessible to everyone and, above all, to ensure it is fair, humane, and generous, beyond how artificial the intelligence that inhabits it may be.
